Tara Walker has a history of creating successful businesses out of sheer passion.

Tara Walker's Dream founder, Tara Walker, has a history of creating successful businesses out of sheer passion for the product. What began as a hobby of sorts three decades ago has evolved into Tara Walker's Dream, a skincare range comprised of the finest handpicked botanicals and marine ingredients that nature has to offer.

At the age of 34, Tara left Canada for the Philippines with only a suitcase to start an embroidered table and bed linens company-with no experience in the textile world. Over 25 years, her business grew and thrived, and she ultimately exported high-end bed linens that were sold in Europe's finest boutiques in addition to Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue in the United States. While living in Asia, her travels took her to many exotic places, where she began to take interest in the indigenous botanicals that natives were using for health and beauty purposes. This interest took on a life of its own on one particular trip to London, when she came across a handful of books about essential oils at Harrod's, which she bought and began studying intensely.

As part of the textile production process, Tara was no stranger to mixing solutions. She created detergents and special ink visible only with black light for her linens, and she soon began to spend vacations blending absolutes and essential oils. At first Tara followed the formulas from the books, but then began experimenting and creating blends for specific problems such as acne, psoriasis, jet lag and the common cold-which she often gave to workers in her factory. In 1982, she started creating the blend that would eventually become the Rejuvenating Dream Serum®. Tara was also busy creating shampoo, conditioner, face cream and perfumes in the lab of her factory-until an earthquake and fire destroyed it. Although she lost most of her raw ingredients, fortunately the essential oils she was blending for her serum remained safe at her home, and her experimentation continued. Fast-forward to 2000 when Tara retired to the Cayman Islands, and quickly learned that living the life of leisure was not for her. She began concentrating on making perfumes and creams, and even purchased mixing machines from Switzerland and filling machines from the United States.

After three years Tara perfected the formula for the Rejuvenating Dream Serum® +100 Concentrate and soon began sourcing additional ingredients from Europe, South America, Africa, India, China and beyond to expand the Tara Walker's Dream range. She has achieved her goal of creating an exceptional, effective product line without using the likes of parabens, sodium laureth sulfate or propylene glycol."

Inspired by the seascape surrounding her home in the Cayman Islands, Tara became intrigued by the potential beauty benefits of the sea life she saw every day. She researched various seaweeds, sea mosses and algae, and eventually started importing marine ingredients from France that would become the basis of the additional Tara Walker's Dream products. Tara then turned to a U.K.-based formulator to help finalize the additional products. She then found an excellent Italian manufacturer, sent the serum which was blended in the Cayman Islands, and left them to make and package all of the products. Today, the Tara Walker's Dream range has grown to include six products, including the Rejuvenating Dream Serum® +100 Concentrate, which is a stand-alone product as well as a main ingredient in the rest of the line. Though Tara's signature serum and the entire Tara Walker's Dream line has evolved over the past three decades, the constant has been her commitment to using only the finest ingredients that will have a positive impact on the skin, regardless of price. She has achieved her goal of creating an exceptional, effective product line without the use of parabens, sodium laureth sulfate, propylene glycol or other ingredients that can be potentially irritating to the skin-and detrimental to the Earth. Though it wasn't easy and Tara is the first one to admit that she has a tendency to make things as difficult as possible, the end result-the beautiful, flawless skin one gets from using Tara Walker's Dream-speaks for itself.
